What is microneedling?
Microneedling is a treatment that uses an electronic pen that contains tiny needles. The tiny needles move in a stamp motion across the skin to create thousands of micro-injuries. The micro-injuries stimulate growth factors deep within the skin, allowing new collagen cells to grow without the fear of scarring.*
What should I expect during a microneedling procedure?
The microneedle procedure starts by putting numbing cream on the area that is going to be treated. Once the cream has been activated a serum will be applied to the skin, so the pen has something to glide on. You will feel vibrations as the pen moves across the area. Within a few minutes, your skin will begin to look red like you have a mild sunburn. The last step in the procedure is to add a topical cream to soothe and seal the skin.*
What should I expect after a microneedling procedure?
After the procedure, your skin will look and feel slightly sunburned. This will disappear within 24 to 48 hours. The treated area may peel, so we suggest letting the skin naturally fall off. Before you leave the facility, we will give you detailed guidelines on how to treat your skin at home.*
